Happy Face Smiles

Typically I would think of this card for a child's birthday, but in my case I know a big kid who loves yellow and orange and I thought that he would appreciate the balloon that is used to creat the bob on the hat and the tongue sticking out.  This is certainly not for everyone, but it made me smile and I hope it makes my friend smile too.

Golden Goldfish

I know that you haven't heard much from me lately, so sorry about that.  I seem to be caught up with work, real life, physical therapy and a complete reorganization of my craft room.  As far as my craft room goes, my friend, Marilyn, (click here to visit her blog she has a great list of every Cricut cartridge ever released that you can download from her blog) who is not only a total Cricut guru, but she is also quite organized so she is doing most of the labor to get me organized and keeping me on task.  I will post photos when we are finished.

Anyway now to the card I am posting today - this is really all about the washi paper that is so gorgeous and lots of layers to accent away.  The fish were stamped with glittery gold embossing powder, I did use a blending pen with a bit of green mica powder to color the fish, but you cannot see it very well in the photo.  I am sending this as a birthday card to a good friend who lives in Florida and somehow that made me think beaches, hence the fish.  She is a golden friend who is just a few days older than me so I feel particularly connected this time of year.

Collage Collection

Our local stamp club had us working on collage cards for September.  I always struggle with collage so I decided to use the technique that I learned from Linda Howard who teaches at Scrapbooking Made Simple - namely stamping on acetate and painting the back.  In the photo you can see that I used different color combination of the Ranger paint daubers.  I decicded to take this opportunity to try the colors of paint.  I added my beloved jewels and mounted them on a Nestie cut out.  There is a small white card behind the nestie that gives one a place to write a note.  Which color combination is your favorite?

Circle Bling

Recently I signed up for a swap where we had to use circles on the card, the more the merrier.  I decided to use a Martha Steward Punch that I bought not too long ago, some K & Co paper (note the polka dots here and there) and some lovely circle shaped bling.
